Souvent, j'invente mes mélodies à partir de rien, ce sont elles le point de départ du morceau. Pour cette chanson, j'ai joué la suite d'accords du couplet pendant plusieurs semaines, sans poser d'air dessus, et un jour j'ai eu envie de mettre des paroles : cette mélodie m'est venue naturellement, alors même que je n'entendais rien auparavant dans ma tête en jouant ces accords. C'était presque une mélodie au hasard, en somme.
